I'm Miralissa Sar'Ashenath and I was born in my parents cabin just south of the
town of Wehnimer's Landing in Melgorehn's Valley. Let me first tell you a bit
about the time before my birth.
Back then my mom was a member of Willow Hall which is the house for rangers. My mom has a love of nature and the heart of a ranger and she loved her companions in the house. Zanteal, a dark elven ranger introduced her to his adopted son Avalos An elven ranger from Vaalor. They fell fast in love and Avalos built the cabin in Melgorehn's Valley where they would live. Mom told me of a vision she had of my birth: She was tending her garden when she was overcome by a trance. Lord Kai and Lady Lumnis came to her and she was confused. You see, Moms patron is Leya because she grew up in the regions south with a tribe of Amazons. But, that's her story. She didn't follow Kai or Lumnis but they both came to her that day and explained their presence and Lumnis bestowed her blessings on her. They said that they were here to tell her about the paladin that I was to become. A strong Elven warrior with Great Fighting prowess and wisdom of the mind. Kai would take a part of Ashenath's spirit and use it to make me have Superior strength, Body Mind and Soul. And an ability to meditate and gain guidance and advice from my Gods. He told Ashenath that I would join the ranks of His Paladins, and fight without fear. She woke up in her garden slightly week and chilled and put on a fire and went back to bed. A month or 2 later on the first day of Phoenatos I was born. Weak of spirit and diminished health made my birth hard for my mother. Much as my father and grandfather tried in aiding her she was comatose for 3 days afterwards. They remarked at how beautiful I was and how much I looked like my father. I had dark hair then and his green eyes. Ironic now the sun must have lightened my hair quite a bit while I was gone to sea because now it's gone platinum, but I like it. There's still a black streak in my hair to remind me of who my father was. I spent much of my childhood with my grandfather Zanteal. He took me fishing alot and told me all kinds of stories of wizards, and beasts, and knights. I especially liked the tales of knights, and chivalry and battle. Mom taught me knowledge of herbs and magic, She knew I was to be a warrior but knew I would need to know about all kinds of magic so I could fight against foes that would fight me with magic. I grew up with the folks in Willow Hall but I knew that Willow Hall was not my place. My mom brought me to my Aunt Cassundera and Uncle Brianus who she knew were in a house called Onoir who could foster me in the ways of being a paladin. Aunt Cassundera and Uncle Brianus introduced me to Tebon and Morgiest. Morgiest took me as his squire and taught me about the house, the codes of chivalry, the Talismans of Kai and helped me with mastering Voln. When I was in my teens just joining the guild Moms life fell apart. She was often lonely, my father Avalos would leave on long trips and then when he would come home seem preoccupied and not want to pay attention to us. Also, Projects she and Grandpa Zanteal were working on for Willow Hall were getting nowhere because of lack of support from the others. When Grandpa left Willow Hall so did mum, and she decided to pack us up and move to Icemule. She later told my pop she was leaving him because he was no good kind of father, and no good kind of husband. To this day I have a cold spot in my heart for the man for what he did to her. Loving and protecting my mom was my life. There was no way I was letting her be taken by trolls as they had done to her and her mother. As for myself I didn't need him and I had other father figures. Grandpa Zanteal and Morgiest both of whom I hold dear to my heart. I made a friend in Icemule with a Bard named Galenok. The friendship didn't last long but he introduced me to the Northern Fury. The Militia of Icemule Trace. I am currently a lancer in the Third Brigade. I like serving the town in this way. Helps me control some of my fire having to be that disciplined. While I was still a recruit for the Northern Fury I met a barbarian named Trest. He and I fell fast in love and I needed him then. We were a good team hunting, and knew we would end up partners in life. We were married. Our days were exciting as were our nights and every part of our lives were full of passion. Even our arguements which started rough in a bad way and ended rough in a good way. Right away I found that I was expecting and that next year in the winter we had a baby Girl, Trest named her.. Afinyana. He loved her to pieces. There was a shadow hovering over her birth though a minion of Eorgina that had a special hatred of all of Onoir because of a disagreement with Kadesha had learned about the birth. I beseeched the Goddess Lumnis about the problem and she eased my mind. This special girl Afinyana was going to become a Shaman of the Goddess of the barbarian tribes. The Goddess Aeia who created all that we know in the universe took her up into the river of time and instructed her in the ancient shamanic arts and brought her to us as a budding young woman wise in her talents and allready an apprentice shaman. The evil Sheka had no infant to sacrifice to Eorgina that night. We lived happily for a time in Icemule until one day when Trest and I heard rumors from his older brother about pirates running a child slave trading operation out of Brisker's Cove. We went down there to investigate. We got in a brawl with these nasty villains and they took out Trest and left him for dead and waylayed me and put me on their ship. I was gone for a year serving on this pirate ship and if it were not for my mom and her gypsie clan friends I might still be lost at sea but the gypsy network is far and wide and they heard rumors of which ship I was on and spied on it. When it came into port they summoned my mother and her friend Emberleah from Icemule and a small group of them rescued me. Fearing for my safety they sent me home via an indirect route with a gypsy caravan going to Vaalor. Mom went to Vaalor and fetched me from there. I do despise the pirates still to this day and they add yet another flame of fire to my brooding green eyes yet the cook befriended me and taught me a 2 weapon style of fighting that I thrived on learning and became an alternate focus to the reality of my helpless situation. You never know what you can learn from the cook of a pirate ship besides how to make awful tasting grog. :) I got home and found my life still waiting for me they took me off of the inactive roster of Onoir and I found out I was needed to help out with the Order of the Silver Fist and agreed with Tebon and Morgiest to be the Lady Guardian. The Northern Fury also put me back into active duty as a lancer in the third Brigade. I did face a mystery though when I returned I heard whisperings of rumors about Trest. I had to find out whether he was alive or dead and what happened to him. I asked everyone around the town and noone heard. Just when I was getting frustrated with the fruitlessness of my efforts my mother received a message from a young adventurer that had heared about the adventurous life in the Trace. The lad passed the note on to Ashenath and she rewarded him well for delivering the news. It was from Afinyana. In the letter as if she knew of my struggles to find their whereabouts Afinyana told my mother that she had found Trest one day wandering in the streets. He was distraught thinking me dead, and heartbroken. Afinyana took him in to her hut and performed a spiritual healing for his shattered soul and the two of them went back to the barbarian homelands after that. They are doing fine and well up there with the tribe and she feels very needed and fulfilled in her duty of keeping the Goddess Aeia alive. When I heard the news, I was much relieved and ceremonially put their memories to rest with the help of Laethe. To be continued..... |
