Glimmin's Tale

This is a story that Glimmin told at a River's Rest bardic event, and from what I heard, he won first place.  Oh, and yes, what he says in his story is true (at least about me getting him a tooth and making him smile).

You see Glimmin Goodhand the Halfling Thief.

He appears to be in his 50's, has receding black hair, brown eyes, and dark skin.

He has developed slurred speech.

He is wearing a gold ring, a voluminous black stalking cloak, a crystal amulet, some dark krodera-studded brigandine, some supple black leather gloves, a black locksmith's belt, and some reinforced black leather pants.

(Glimmin grumbles "As ye all know, ol' Glimmin Goodhand grumbles.")

Huples asks, "Glimmin grumbling a happy tale?"

(Glimmin grumbles "Some believe it's because of his parents bein' murdered in front of his eyes by kobolds at the age of three...")

Heathyranne shivers.

A pained expression crosses Allequerie's face.

Rhilly frowns.

Heathyranne sighs sadly.

(Glimmin grumbles "Others think it's 'cause of all the grumbleberry tarts he consumes...")

Huples squints.

A pained expression crosses Sammeal's face.

Naamit takes a drink from her spiced tea.

(Glimmin grumbles "Some believe he's just a worry-wort.")

(Glimmin grumbles "Nevertheless, one day in the grumpy ol' hobbit's life, he smiled.")

Rhilly leans forward.

Varilnir smiles softly

Huples asks, "Really?"

(Glimmin grumbles "The story begins as Glimmin stalks a Krolvin warfarer.")

Thuunk leans forward.

(Glimmin grumbles "You see, ol' Glimmin would always be find hunting the Krolvin to avenge his hobbit brethren that were made into Krolvin sails.")

(Glimmin grumbles "But this time, the Krolvin would get the better of Glimmin.")

(Glimmin grumbles "Like everytime, Glimmin hid carefully in the shadows of the mines, moving ever so quietly so the Krolvin wouldn't hear it's death coming...")

(Glimmin grumbles "Glimmin lept!")

Heathyranne grins at Glimmin.

Glimmin stands up.

(Glimmin grumbles "And slipped his blade through the Krolvin's leg like a hot knife slips through butter.")

Anglaess leans forward.

(Glimmin grumbles "But the Krolvin still had another leg...")

(Glimmin grumbles "And it kicked the poor ol' hobbit square in the face.")

Rhilly flails her arms about.

Allequerie winces.

(Glimmin grumbles "Dislodging one a his teeth.")

Shirkon exclaims, "Oomph!"

Heathyranne shudders.

(Glimmin grumbles "Glimmin was furious.")

Glimmin snarls menacingly!

Heathyranne says, "if ye were taller it would hae missed yer teeth"

Sammeal says, "Understandably so."

Glimmin glares at Heathyranne.

Glimmin snorts.

Heathyranne just kissed Glimmin on the nose.

(Glimmin grumbles "He took his dagger and tore all the teeth of the Krolvins head fer revenge...")

Sammeal giggles.

Chauldi shudders.

Sammeal applauds.

(Glimmin grumbles "But Glimmin was still missing his incisor.")

Sammeal asks, "Did you find one that fit?"

Sammeal leans forward.

(Glimmin grumbles "And when he went home to the Silvergate Inn at the end of the day like he usually did...")

(Glimmin grumbles "He couldn't munch on his grumbleberry tarts without feeling an immense pain in his gums.")

A pained expression crosses Rhilly's face.

Huples exclaims, "Oh no!"

Heathyranne asks, "a true tragedy for a halfling, eh?"

(Glimmin mumbles "Glimmin went for months without eating any grumbleberry tarts!")

Huples shudders.

Sammeal flinches.

(Glimmin grumbles "It was then, after that month that Lord Tebon, the Paladin of Many Deeds came along.")

Shirkon smiles at Glimmin.

(Glimmin grumbles "Tebon noticed Glimmin's predicament and immediately proposed a....umm...a...proposition.")

Glimmin coughs.

Heathyranne grins at Glimmin.

Rhilly peers quizzically at Glimmin.

(Glimmin clears his throat to impersonate Tebon.)

Shirkon says, "Him Lord Paladin o' House Onoir nows, Glimmin"

Glimmin exclaims, "Noble hobbit!  I see that you are missing a tooth!"

Glimmin says, "I will gladly find you a golden tooth to replace it, if you will do something for me in return."

Shirkon nods.

(Glimmin grumbles "Anything!  Glimmin said.")

Chauldi nods.

Huples peers quizzically at Glimmin.

Sammeal turns an inquisitive ear towards Glimmin.

Glimmin says, "Then I will claim my prize when I find you such a tooth that will fit you tiny hobbit mouth."

(Glimmin grumbles "Now you see, Glimmin wasn't the brightest when it came to making bets...")

(Huples can taste those tarts Glimmin has coming)

Heathyranne begins chuckling at Huples.

(Glimmin grumbles "There was the time that he had bet Lord Jaelus that he couldn't skewer three kobolds with one dagger...and lost horribly.")

(Glimmin grumbles "There was the time that he had bet Lord Tarlequin that hobbits hit the ground harder when drunk than giantkin do...and lost horribly.")

Heathyranne begins chuckling at Glimmin.

(Glimmin grumbles "So of course, this time, old Glimmin lost his bet horribly.")

(Glimmin grumbles "Within a month Lord Tebon, the Paladin of Many Deeds returned with a gold tooth just small enough for the hobbits mouth.")

Jarice grins.

Heathyranne giggles.

(Glimmin grumbles "And do you know what Tebon demanded from the grumpy old hobbit in return?")

Huples exclaims, "Hooray!"

Rhilly turns to face Glimmin.

Heathyranne asks, "a kilt?"

(Glimmin grumbles "Millions of silvers?...")

Heathyranne smiles excitedly.

Jarice says, "two teeth, naturally"

Valseir grins.

Rhilly begins chuckling at Jarice.

(Glimmin grumbles "A blade of masterful workmanship?")

Rhilly looks over at Glimmin and shakes her head.

(Glimmin grumbles "A grumbleberry tart?")

(Glimmin grumbles "Nay...worse than all those...")

Heathyranne fidgets.

Rhilly's face turns slightly pale.

(Glimmin grumbles "A smile!")

Glimmin cringes.

Heathyranne rolls around on the ground laughing hysterically!

Jarice chuckles.

Valseir gasps.

Heathyranne says, "I knew I liked tebon"

Rhilly raises her voice in merry laughter.

Heathyranne grins.

Thuunk grunts, amused.

Huples gasps..

Anglaess blinks.

Chauldi grins.

(Glimmin grumbles "And old Glimmin was FORCED to grin widely with his new golden tooth for the paladin and all who sat in Silvergate Inn that faithful night.")

Rhilly exclaims, "that was a golden smile indeed!"

Rhilly giggles.

Heathyranne giggles.

Heathyranne just tickled Rhilly.

Thuunk says, "heh"

Rhilly giggles.

Thuunk nods to Rhilly.

Allequerie grins.

Heathyranne applauds Glimmin.

Rhilly applauds Glimmin.

Yarx grins.

Allequerie applauds Glimmin.

Anglaess smiles at Glimmin.

Yarx applauds.

(Glimmin grumbles "Unfortunately...old Glimmin Goodhand hasn't smiled since...but maybe another time.")

Glimmin sits down.
